This site is a tribute in loving memory of Richard William Orrell who died unexpectedly in South Korea on one of his many adventures on 26th May 2024. Richard will be sadly missed by his brother Julian and sister Yvette; his family and friends; and all those whose lives he touched.

Sending deepest condolences to Richard's family and friends. Richard Orrell was an excellent and kind hearted clinical academic, and dedicated to his work. He is sorely missed.

Thoughts
Dr Orrell was my consultant for at least 10 years, and when I saw my appointment was cancelled I thought he'd retired. I only just found out he had passed.
He was such a kind and thoughtful fellow, and full of the latest knowledge of new things to try. I'll miss my annual catchups with him.
Thoughts are with all his friends and family and all the countless other patients whom he had helped over the many decades.

Richard will be sorely missed by all but remembered fondly for his kindness, hospitality and welcoming nature by those who had the privilege to know him. We will cherish the memories that we have shared with Richard. Thinking of his friends and family at this difficult time. He will be forever in our prayers.

Dr Orrell was a kind and compassionate neurologist, popular with patients and their families. He was always willing to share his clinical wisdom. I am most grateful for his support over the last ten years I worked with him in neurology clinic. He will be very much missed as a wonderful senior colleague, teacher and neurology expert.
